Materials of 2018 | January

Image
Lately I've been seeing videos pop up on my YouTube recommended videos list "Everything I bought the past year" and it's so crazy to see how little people buy! It has inspired me to try to buy less since last year I feel like I was buying way too much by the end of the year. I really want to become more minimal, finding content in the things I have now and to stop comparing what I have with what I could have. Hopefully keeping note of this will help me in this journey! Note : February has only started and I've literally already bought more than some of those videos I've seen on YouTube  😂 . But again, I should stop comparing myself since this journey is my own. January  // $168.98 // 29 items 8th // Walmart Checks & address stickers - $22.57 Okay, so the address stickers probably weren't necessary, but they're puppies come on ðŸ’– And hopefully it'll motivate me to send out more snail mail 11th // Goodwill  - $46.06 Just picked up ...

College | On those days when it's gloomy

Image
This weekend was just spectacular outside. Very warm, with a lot of sun and a cool breeze. But you know, with living....on the earth, the weather can be so unpredictable and ever-changing. I woke up in my bed today fairly freezing. In spite of spring, I urged myself that this was a good day to dress in bright colors. It definitely was!  I am definitely a fan of the trench coat. This one is navy blue and from Banana Republic. Cheers to an extraordinary blurry photo. Recently got the middle ring from Plato's Closet. Rings are so fun to find when thrift shopping! I really think that those beige sandals are just the most comfiest shoes.  It was quite a cold walk home, but the river is always nice to look at. The sun decided to come out later though at around 7 pm. Here was the view from my apartment balcony:  And one of my university's parking lot:

OOTD | A College Finals Week

Image
I love the quote in this shirt "Rather be hibernating". It's so perfect for exam weeks. Plus, I love the low back! The all-black color scheme, I feel, is also very perfect for the stressful exam weeks during school. This semester's finals were especially stressful for me, and being just before Christmas, shopping was my stress reliever. Never forget to take breaks and relieve stress. :) I got the shirt on sale at Aeropastle from the Bethany Mota collection for $3, black jeans from Plato's Closet for $1, and shoes from Savers for $6. The necklace was made with a pendent from Michaels that was on sale for $0.75 and came with two other pendants, and just put it on a chain I found around the house. (P.S. I never noticed how long my hair was getting until I took that back picture.) Posted via Blogaway

OOTD | Summer to Fall Thrift-Shopped Outfit

Image
I absolutely love thrift shopping. It gives you a way to find unique items and for a great price! What I love even more though, is styling everything after you buy them. Summer is sadly coming to an end, and it's back to school/ fall time. My absolute favorite season for styling because of all the fun layering there is to play around with. The weather in Wisconsin has been fairly chilly in the morning and humid in the day. Cardigans are a favorite for this time! Here's a bright summer-going-to-fall outfit composed of all things found at thrift shops, except for the shorts and rings): Cardigan : Savers - $7 Tank Top : HGM Bargain Center - $3 Shorts : Forever 21 sale - $5 Belt : Yard Sale - $1 Shoes : Savers - $3 Rings : Forever 21 and H&M (On Sale, and using Wrapp for H & M rings) - $1 Note: I'm so sad that Wrapp is no longer available anymore!
