Beauty Review | Lush Shampoo Bar and Massage Bar Review

Image
My latest test drive with shampoo products has been Lush’s Shampoo Bar Soak and Float . My hair and scalp has be so dry due to this Minnesota winter weather. The description for Soak and Float is  " Sort out dry, itchy scalps. Sad, irritated scalps rejoice! We've got just the thing to soothe your troubles. We pack cade oil into this one to treat dry or angry scalps, leaving them feeling calm and relaxed. Rose oil works to soothe the scalp too, and also lends its heady aroma to this bar's sweet and smoky perfume. "  Their tag line did gave me high hopes that it was going to be a dry-scalp miracle shampoo, but it wasn't. Don't get me wrong though, I still loved the product! I've never used a shampoo bar before, but rubbing the soap-looking block onto my head gives such a nice head massage and the perfect lather.  Also, I'm not sure if it was just that many people used it in my family or if I didn't keep it packaged correctly but the shampoo ba...

Beauty | 16 Items I loved in 2016

Image
It's already the beginning of February, but thought I'd post 16 of my favorites from the previous year. It's a mix of beauty and just life items: 1.  Tarte eye lash curler My absolute favorite eye lash curler to get longer looking lashes. I actually heard about it because it was mentioned by Alexis Ren. So I decided to give it a try, and it's the absolute best! 2. Kat Von D eyeliner This eyeliner is the rage right now, and I would have to agree. It's such a smooth and easy application and it stays on ALL day! I have the mini version and the full, but the mini version is the best! I usually apply my makeup after I'm at the gym at my workplace, so it's nice to have this on-the-go eye liner in my tiny makeup bag. 3.  Sheet masks I have definitely seen a change in my complexion since starting to use sheet masks on a weekly basis. Sheet masks are also just so relaxing, and it gives me an excuse to sit around and cook eggs for breakfast the next d...

Tech | Favorite apps of 2015

Image
My Main Screen There are so, so, soo many apps in the app store, especially for Android users. I have personally been an Android user for a long time. I currently have a LG G2, which is a pretty old model but it was a quick replacement for my last phone that I lost while Christmas shopping. With all the apps in the app store, there are always those few apps that really stand out as being really great and functional. Here's my list of the apps I loved and their uses: 1. TwoDots : This game has literally become my life, well at least for when I'm either bored, stressed, need to concentrate, or sometimes before I sleep. It's simple with connecting the dots and kind of has a bejeweled-feel, but the games keep things interesting with adding new "powers" or features to the game that makes you want to keep playing to see what new powers will be next. When I lost my phone, this game was one of the first apps I downloaded and I was so glad to see I didn't lose m...

Book Review | The Four Agreements

Image
This book is a practical guide to personal freedom written by Don Miguel Ruiz. He goes over the four main points of: be impeccable with your word, don't take anything personally, don't make assumptions, and always do your best. Reading through the book you really get a feel for what Ruiz is saying and how you could apply these principles in your everyday life to gain personal freedom and ultimate happiness. Throughout the book, Ruiz explains how you live in your own dream and you have the ability at anytime to change that dream. Essentially, we are all born the same. It's our experiences that domesticate each of us to shape how we are and how we view the world, shaping what are dream may be. Some Main Points: Being impeccable with your word, you use your words for positivity and in what you believe in. Words have so much power and can shape our views on the world and ourself. They can mean so much, or they can mean nothing at all. Sticks and stones can break you bones,...
