Just Life | Introverted

Image
I'm such an introvert. I decide to spend my days off away from people, but I truly enjoy it. I did a mini-roadtrip by myself today in the country side and it was wonderful; just me, my mind, and the roads ahead. I didn't have to worry about what anyone was thinking about me, I didn't have to worry about filling silence up or thinking about what the other person did or didn't want to do; all I had to think about was where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do the only thing I had to semi-worry about was time until I had to go back to reality and play the part I'm suppose to (a daughter, a girlfriend, a sister, a friend). I don't know if this makes me an introvert or just shows that I don't like being around people. Lol, I'm sure I would get scared, tired, and lonely being by myself all the time but I truly love the times when I'm just with me. It is always nice to share experiences with other people, but not having to worry about the small parts in b

Fitness Series | Neck Pain Yoga and a Light Jog

Image
I started this morning out with searching some yoga routines to relieve neck pain because the right side of my neck was so sore when I woke up. I'm not sure if I had just twisted it some odd way yesterday or just slept wrong, but it's still quite sore even right now at night while I'm writing this. I followed this " Easy Neck & Back Pain Stretches & Exercises " by PsycheTruth routine. Since it was only 10 minutes long, I also did a different PsycheTruth yoga routine " Neck & Should Pain Relief Exercised & Yoga Stretches Jen Hilman ". To be honest, I enjoyed the second video much more. She was more interactive with her camera audience and just made it enjoyable (maybe that was just because it was a longer video so she had more time to fill up but who knows). Later in the day I took advantage of the warmer Minnesota weather we've been having and did a light 15 minute jog around Buffalo Lake. I haven't jogged in such a long time;

Fitness Series | Night time workout

Image
Enjoyed a night time workout with my younger siblings. We don't follow the same routine, but it's nice just to be in the same room with other people working out in order to motivate each other. Below was my approximately 30 minute workout routine tonight. I took a break in the middle to dye my grandma's (pog) hair. Stretch 100 donkey kicks with 2.5 lb ankle weights  50 fire hydrants and rainbows  with 2.5 lb ankle weights  25 Leg lifts  with 2.5 lb ankle weights  50 yoga ball crunches (55 cm ball) 25 side lunge  with lift - 2.5 lb ankle weights  25 pulse squat  25 squats with overhead curl (5 lb dumbbells) 25 tricep overhead curls  (5 lb dumbbells) 25 flies  (5 lb dumbbells) 25 lunges  15 half V-ups  25 Russian twists with a 5 lb dumbbell 10 push-ups & 10 girl push ups 25 tricep dips  Practiced head stand Today I wore my EzyFit Waist Trimmer , which I haven't worn in forever (it was actually lost in my stuff). I

Relationships | MR. MR.

My Reaction is My Responsibility. At this time, I think this is one of the biggest lessons my mom has taught me. You are responsible for the way you react, so think twice before overreacting. There have been many times in my life when I overreacted to a situation or small comment and later on had to take responsibility for my initial reaction. For example, some nights when my boyfriend goes out a little late with his friends and hasn't returned my calls or texts, my mind might wander off far. Though he was probably just with his guys doing the things guys do, I was sulking in my thoughts of many doubts. Then when he finally gives me that late night call as promised when he gets home, I can't help but react with my angry tone over the phone. This could then get him to react either apologetically or being fed up that he has to deal with the overthinking again . Either way, the night is either going to be short and sweet or long and frustrating but it all depends on how each of

Fitness Series | Saturday Yoga, Glutes, and Arms

Image
I worked out for almost an hour this fine Saturday morning:  Stretched  25 leg lifts  25 scissors  50 crunches  Followed Boho Beautiful again with her Yoga for Weight loss winter video  30 side leg lifts and clams  50 inner leg pulses 40 standing side leg lifts with ankle weights and 8lb weights.  50 donkey kicks, fire hydrants, and rainbows with ankle weights  25 crunches  25 toe touch crunches  25 sides pulses  15 arm flies 8 lbs  15 tricep overhead dips 8 lbs  I use the Gold's Gym ankle weights, which I'm pretty sure I bought from just Walmart or something, possibly Amazon? I absolutely love them though! They're comfortable and give my workouts some resistance. The velcro is loosening, but over almost a year now, it has done it's job very well! The one's I got are 2.5 pounds per ankle weight.  The rest of the day I went on a small, unscheduled shopping spree. I spent much more than I was expecting, but s

Fitness Series | Morning Yoga and Glutes

Image
Here is the first post to the start of my fitness series. I'll be trying to post as much as possible so I'm able to look back and remember the workouts I was doing in the past. Yesterday morning (Thursday, February 23rd) I followed this Morning Yoga routine by the Youtuber Boho Beautiful. I absolutely love her channel for yoga routines. I also love how she adds in motivational quotes at the beginning. This video says "The choice you make today defines your tomorrow". Her routines are the perfect amount of challenging and soothing. I also love how she implements at the end that doing this routine is a way of loving yourself and your body, and to take a moment to thank yourself for that. After the Yoga routine, I did a few exercises for the glutes. So about 20-25 donkey kicks, fire hydrants, rainbows, and bridges with 2.5 lb ankle weights. I feel like I did more exercises but I can't quite remember. I just recently about perfected the headstand so I practic

Beauty | 16 Items I loved in 2016

Image
It's already the beginning of February, but thought I'd post 16 of my favorites from the previous year. It's a mix of beauty and just life items: 1.  Tarte eye lash curler My absolute favorite eye lash curler to get longer looking lashes. I actually heard about it because it was mentioned by Alexis Ren. So I decided to give it a try, and it's the absolute best! 2. Kat Von D eyeliner This eyeliner is the rage right now, and I would have to agree. It's such a smooth and easy application and it stays on ALL day! I have the mini version and the full, but the mini version is the best! I usually apply my makeup after I'm at the gym at my workplace, so it's nice to have this on-the-go eye liner in my tiny makeup bag. 3.  Sheet masks I have definitely seen a change in my complexion since starting to use sheet masks on a weekly basis. Sheet masks are also just so relaxing, and it gives me an excuse to sit around and cook eggs for breakfast the next d

Book Review | The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Image
The  Life - Changing Magic of Tidying Up   by Marie Kondo was an amazing book, and also a quick read. It really inspires you to strive to tidy up your space in order to tidy up your life. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a change in their life! I have outlined the things that I took away from this book, and want to remember in order to incorporate it in my own life.  "Let your space bring you happiness! Reset your life with a new lifestyle."  This book has inspired me to make it one of my new year resolutions to tidy up, and in return hopefully find some guidance in my life. The book explains that you need to have a specified goal; I want to live minimalistic and know where all my things are placed in my space. With this goal, you also have to change your lifestyle. I need to stop going to the store to relieve stress lol.  And why do I want to tidy up my life? I want to relax and be healthy. Why would I want to relax and be healthy?
