Just Life | A few of the Minnesota State Fair 2017 foods

So, I made this elaborate plan/map of new foods that I wanted to try at the fair. Of course knowing that I won't stick to it, but it was cool looking at all of the new foods and beverages. Below is the map I made during my extra time on Saturday:

(Yup... I used Paint hahaha)

It actually was really useful in navigating where to go next to try something new! By the end of the day though, we were all just too full to enjoy food or drinks anymore. We only got to a few foods on the list:

Duke of Cuke: Yay, I really liked this beer! I thought it was quite sweet. We originally went to Lulu's (a place I swear I've never seen at the fair before haha) to get the Adult Red Bull Slushie but by the time we got there they said that they were remaking the slushies and it would be about an hour or two before it would be frozen again. So we skipped the slushies, but I'm glad I got this beer in place of it.

Ordinary Mary: Aight, I love bloody's so I'm a bit picky. This bloody was pretty chunky, a lot of garlic. Overall a pretty basic bloody mary.

Triple Truffle Trotters: Nay, I suppose maybe I'm just not a sour cream fan, but I'd say it looks more delicious than it actually was. One of our friends that we went with said they'd rather have McDonald fries.

Caramel Apple Ï€ Cider Beer: Aight, definitely a sipping beer. Maybe I'm just not a dark beer kind of gal though.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Beer: Aight, this was also a dark beer. The chocolate on one rim was a nice touch though.

Dill Pickle Beer: Aight, I liked the pickle and the cheese! The beer itself actually did have a dill pickle taste! It's pretty alright, but it's not something I would grab again for.

Raspberry Hard Cider: Nay,, I did not enjoy this much. It tasted like cough syrup on my tongue. I couldn't finish a small.
Deep Fried Avocados: Aight, it came with chipotle sauce. I feel like if they had a really awesome, unique sauce it may have been better. I love avocados, but I think I liked O'Garas fried mac n cheese (?) that they had last year better.

Swine & Spuds: Yay, we were going to get the pork belly burger, but I guess this was enough pork belly for us this year. I thought it was pretty good, even though the fried mash potatoes were a bit cold. The flavors were good!

The other food items we got were:

Deep-fried Alligator: Aight, it really tasted like chicken. I love buffalo sauce, so that made it good. It also had tator tots mixed in with it, and who doesn't love some tots.

The class Turkey leg: Yay, this is a classic and will probably always be a yay at the fair; though it was $12 this year.

Walleye Fries: Yay, fish is always good and Giggles gives you the perfect amount of walleye fries, tarter sauce, and lemon with your beer.

Of course, Martha's cookies: Yay, these cookies will always be a staple here. Though this year it did get my shirt all dirty with chocolate, each Sweet Martha's cookie is always perfection.

The fair was soo packed, even with the rain in the weather forecast. All of the nearby park n rides were full so we ended up having to get a $20 parking and walk over to the fair. Traffic was of course horrendous looking for parking at 2 pm, but there were some good views on the walk back at around 7pm:

And here's just a short video of random clips throughout our day at the fair this past Sunday, August 27th 2017 :)
