Materials of 2018 | February

My journey to spending less, giving more, and being content!

Updates on the items I bought last month

  • The checks are of course useful, and I've used the address stickers to send out letters to friends already.
  • Goodwill haul:
    • I think I lost one of the brown gloves shopping at the Goodwill on February 1st.
    • I have yet to wear the tank tops.
    • The floral button up has a whole in the sleeve.
    • The grey Zara T-shirt is large, but super soft and comfy.
    • The coat I bought does not have a zipper, but the buttons suffice for me - I hardly zipper my coats. I wore this coat sledding and it was nice and warm!
  • Target haul: I have yet to use the bottle opener, soap, Nexus, one of the Batiste dry shampoo, the Sonia brush, or write anything in the book.
  • Ulta haul: I like the BH cosmetics eyeliner, I'm still trying to finish the OGX Sake Essense shampoo and conditioner.
  • Succulent: IS STILL ALIVE! Yay!!

February  // $ 194.13 // 50 items

Note: 21 items more than January and $25.15 more spent. I feel like this month I overspent because it was my birthday month....but maybe that's just an excuse. Hopefully March goes much better!!

1st // Goodwill - $35.40 // 7 items
I'm in search of some nice plaid slacks, but have yet to find it. I've been finding good deals though, and it's dangerous.
This backpack just seemed like the perfect bag $5

I couldn't pass up $7 Zara pants

I couldn't pass up $9 J Crew pants - and they're navy blue!

BCX $6 dress; I can never pass up when I finally find dresses that fit snug on me.

Because these are basics, I just couldn't pass up - Twins T-shirt ($3), Hawaiian shirt ($3, This print reminds me of Lilo & Stitch!), and a basic white T ($2, I plan on ironing letters on it - after I washed it I realized that there was slight discoloration on it).

7th // Walmart - $19 // 3 items
Photos from the film I've had since the beginning of last summer. Orchid food because one of my co-workers is challenging is to bloom his orchid, and will prize us with some lunch if we do (seems very hard though!). Summer's Eve feminine wipes; I've learned to not buy the generic ones because they are definitely not as good as the Summer's Eve one.

8th // Kohls  - $2.30 // 2 items
Since February is my birthday month, I received a $10 gift card from Kohl's and of course I just had to use it. Kohl's and their sales.
I've been wanting a beret (on sale for $6), and of course Kohl's would have a cheap one. Since it was for $10 picked up the earrings (on sale for $4.80) and bought a mentos to reach the minimum limit amount.

9th // Goodwill  ~ $15 // 3 items
The shorts are so cute, the shoes were so comfy, the heels are Ralph Lauren and I've been wanting just some cute scrappy nude heels.

9th // Ridgedale Center birthday items - $15 // 8 items
Again with the birthday items, I received two free $10 from Victoria's Secret and the day I went they were having all panties under $16.50 for $5, so I got 4 cute panties for Free (since Minnesota doesn't tax for clothes). I went to Sephora and grabbed my birthday gift, a free sample of the My Burberry perfume, and also grabbed the IT Cosmetics CC cream ($15 - the only thing I spent money on at the mall this day). I also just grabbed the free item in the Bath & Body Works coupons.

13th // Goodwill Outlet - $6.56 // 4 items
I've never really shopped at a Goodwill Outlet but it really takes a lot of time to go through everything and endurance to keep on searching. Some items are really gross and mixed with dirty socks and undies. But I found a few gems; a Tommy Jeans jacket, a nice looking tan cardigan, a Target sweater (that I literally saw at a different Goodwill and almost purchased but that one had a hole in it), and at the last minute I saw this grey "The Pines" sweater and just had to get it. Goodwill Outlets do it by the pound, so it was super cheap!

13th // Dollar Tree & Walmart - $10 // 2 item
From the Dollar Tree also bought gifts, but for myself, I just bought this jump rope since my other jump rope is broken - it's the one that has the beads.

From Walmart, I don't know why I included picture of the food items, but the only material I really bought was the back wiper. I went to get an oil change this month, and the guys notified me that I have the back wiper, but the back wipers don't have the blade. No wonder my back wipers never wiped anything well.

15th - 22nd // Amazon $38.59 // 8 items
So I've racked up points on my Discover Card, and I ended up using it all on Amazon... I am terrible at this minimizing thing... But here are the items I purchased:
I started off with just getting one wire cord for my phone because all of my charger cords are broken and/or dead. I had updated my cards, and couldn't get the points to work, so I ended up just paying $6.02 for this on the 15th.

The next day, I figured out how to get my Discover points to work again on Amazon, so of course I just had to use it..
I purchased a USB car charger adapter with a cord ($13.99) and another cord ($8.99) because I like to have multiple cords to bring with me places, and just to make it hit $25 for the free shipping, I also purchased the movie Warcraft ($5) because I remember really liking it when I saw it in theaters last year and I have never seen it at the store to purchase. Since I used my points, the total came up to $0.00 though.

The following day (17th) I thought I would just use up the rest of my points on a cheap drone, since I've been wanting one real bad for over a year (and it's my birthday month). So I looked up reviews and compared the drones on Amazon, and ended up getting the Syma Toys X5C-1 Explorers 4 CH Remote Control Quadcopter, 2015 Version ($39.00). This used up the rest of my points, and the total ended up at $7.14.

And then again, on the 22nd, I realized that I couldn't fix my broken phone holder in my car with super glue, so I just had to get a new phone holder. My friend had a magnetic holder in her car, which I thought was just the coolest thing ever so I found one on Amazon ($6.99). And then again to make it free shipping, I purchased a few more items that I've been wanting; a breathalyzer ($13.99) and a barbell pad ($8.95). Totaling to $25.43. I would say that this purchase was worth it, but I honestly probably didn't really need the items..

22nd // Ragstock - $33.31 // 8 items
From Ragstock I purchased a few items I've been wanting, and then some. I've been needing a more sturdy wallet and I really like the style of just card inserts. I've been wanting gingham printed bottoms, I would've preferred pants or slack, but shorts work too. I've also been wanting a striped shirt and yoga pants that have the side pockets. So this Ragstock trip was so prime for me.

24th // Walmart $3.97 // 1 item
I purchased some elastic for items that I want to fix while I was buying some baby shower presents.

24th // ULTA - $15 // 4 items
I received the monthly 3.50 off of $15 coupon, so I went to ULTA and spent it on two deodorants (since I've been out) and a face mask to make it $15.

I also got 10 free prints from Walgreens (with the T-mobile Tuesday app).

Hope everyone had a good February✌🏻
