Materials of 2018 | March

Here's to another month!

Updates on the items I bought in February (typed up on 4/24/2018

  • Goodwill haul:
    • I have worn the back pack, jeans, and blue slacks.
    • I have not yet worn the twins shirt, Hawaiian shirt, or altered the white T-Shirt. I did find a stain on the white shirt though.
  • Walmart haul: I've used up the wipes already and should buy more next month. Orchid still hasn't bloomed, but a tiny new leaf is growing.
  • Kohl's haul: I haven't worn the earrings or the hat yet...
  • Goodwill #2 haul: I was able to wear the heels to a wedding a couple weekends ago, but I'm still waiting for better weather to wear the shorts and brown shoes.
  • Mall haul: I've probably worn all of the undies. I don't remember where I put the tiny lotion...but it's gotta be somewhere in my room unused still. I haven't tried the Glam mini items. The CC It cosmetics foundation is alright, it might be too light for my skin. I've decided that I'm only going to get samples from now on; it's free and samples last me a while.
  • Goodwill #3 haul: I've worn all the items except "The Pines" sweater.
  • Dollar Tree & Walmart haul: I haven't used the rope yet. Wipers are doing well. I am not a fan of the Green Goddess Kraft sauce.
  • Amazon haul: The white Syncwire cable I leave at Kong's house for me to use.
    • I have yet to open Warcraft the movie, fly the drone, and I actually can't think off the top of my head what in the world I did with the two black phone wires I got. The other day, the cables would've definitely came in handy....That's when you know you have a problem and are getting too much stuff.
    • Wow, I actually totally forgot I bought a breathalyzer! I'm pretty surest's in my backpack. Wow, I'm amazed haha, I'm glad that I'm doing this or else I would've totally just forgotten about it. But it has yet to be used.
    • I love the magnetic car phone holder! It's the best, besides the fact you have to have the magnet on the phone and I have a clear phone case...
    • I've used the bar pad and hand pad a couple times at the gym. I've been falling back on my gym time in the mornings...
  • Ragstock haul:
    • The wallet is nice, but it is sort of ripping already, not as bad as my original wallet though. The rings were alright, not the best quality and I've so far only worn 2 or 3 of them.
    • I have not worn the pants yet or the red shirt. I actually forgot about the red shirt! I'll have to go searching for it after this...Also of course I haven't been able to wear short yet in this Minnesota Snow blizzard spring.
    • I've worn the tank and yoga pants, and I love both!
  • I have not used the elastic yet to fix any items.
  • Utla haul: Deodorants are slowly being used, and that face mask and sitting with the other face masks.
Last month's updates took way longer than it should've to write! I have to consolidate my spending. I did a lot better this month with buying 35 items (vs. 50 in February), but I only spent $30 less which isn't that good. April should be a better month hopefully!

March  // $ 165.32 // 35 items

I did so well this month! ...Until the end haha. But I decided to pick up a new hobby! (But maybe that's just an excuse to buy stuff....)

10th// Acteens Retreat fundraiser bags - $5 // 2 items
Got these two cute little bags at the Acteens retreat for just $5 for both!

23rd// Mall trip (Southdale) - $19.03 // 5 items
I had a gift card to H&M and Sephora, so I made a little trip out to the mall. I also picked up the free Bath & Body Works gift (under $5.50) because why not.

It's a yellow jean jacket and I couldn't pass it up! Also a cute santa sweater, because you know that there will be an ugly christmas sweater day somewhere every year. I had a $20 gift card from my birthday so this is what I got and spent in all about $4 after using the gift card.

I won a $50 Sephora card from a retreat I went to in March, (I only put 1 ticket in the drawing too!) so I decided to treat myself to something I've been wanting to try - just a good eye cream since I'm getting to that aging age. This had good reviews and a sign that said Sephora's best seller. I also picked up some free samples of perfume from Sephora.

29th // Craft Haul (Michaels & Target) - $ 96.30 + $14.61 // 26 items

Now this is where I really went wrong. I'm actually not sure if I should count a portion of this as "gifts" since it will eventually be a gift for someone, but I thought I'd pick up a new hobby of card-making. I visited my friend and Maine, and her mother makes cards. I thought if was such a sweet idea and had to start it myself too. Though I am no where as near creative or awesome at it, maybe one day I will be.

30th // Michaels - $30.38 // 2 items (I feel like there was more but I can't remember...already...)
The deal was too good that I had to go back and pick up a couple more. I can't remember quite what the price was, but I'm pretty sure it was $10 each. I can't remember what other things I got this trip.... It's so bad. The shopaholic is kicking in.

Yeah, so I kind of went over board at the end, but thought since I'm picking up a new hobby, I forced myself to reconcile and say it was okay. If you really think about it though that's $90 for 140 cards (that's less than $0.65 per card!), and it also includes a scrap book. So I'd say that's a pretty good deal since we buy cards for almost every occasion. So hoping this will save me money in the long run! Hope you enjoyed March!
