Materials of 2018 | April

April was quite the weather in Minnesota, from a Snow blizzard and emergency to going to 70s the next weekend. My spending was more steady, but I could still improve. I just have to keep reminding myself that I don't need....STUFF!

Updates on the items I bought in March

  • Acteens Retreat fundraiser bags
    • I have not used either since the retreat. i also got 2 free earring there that I have also not worn.
  • Mall trip:
    • I've packed away the santa sweater to wear next year.
    • I have not yet used the eye closers...maybe I'll use it tonight!
    • The yellow jacket I fore to the 70s crawl, but I guess I left a pen in the pocket and washed it in the laundry, and the jacket is now ruined! I'm thinking about just dying it black. I was thinking of possibly making the black splotches into "holes", but that would've been way too many holes..
    • I have yet to use the lotion.
    • I've been trying to use the eye cream daily.
    • I've used the sephora perfumes but I feel like I still have so many other perfumes to use, so I'm going to not get more perfume (or samples) until I've finished the ones I have.
  • Craft hauls:
    • The items from target I have yet to use.
    • The craft items from Michaels have mostly been used already! I've started scrapbooking and have also made at least more than 5 cards already. Some were last minute but hey, it's the thought that counts.
I've done much better in April! It went from March's 35 items and $165.32, to less than half of it! I'm pretty proud, but I already know that May has had more spending. We'll see what's next!

April  // $59.10  // 12 items

6th // Meat raffle haul (Michaels/Goodwill/Fresh Thyme) - $19.03 // 5 items
My work place had a "meat raffle" mandatory meeting on a Friday night, which gave me 3 hours to kill in between the time I'm off work and the time of the meeting, and I decided to spend that time shopping... Probably not the best idea.

I had gotten my nails done and I was not feeling the bright yellow (which should've been gold) dots on my nails, so I went to Michaels to try to find something to cover it. I ended up getting these stick-on beads [3.00] and a pop socket [6.00]- since I had a 40% off coupon and I'm going to trade it later on. My last stop of the day was Fresh Thyme to get some food, along with some sushi I also picked up a clear nail polish [7.99] to try to hold the bead down, and vitamin B-12 (which I've heard it's recommended if you're trying to go vegan) [8.99].

In between Michaels and Fresh Thyme, of course I ended up at Goodwill. My goal was to find a small purse for me to carry into the meeting since I had forgotten to put my "car purse" in my car. I did end up getting a purse, and also a total of $39 worth of other stuff. I ended up also getting a belt (which I've been needing a new one), a wine basket, a brown leather jacket, another Hawaiian shirt (but this one is soft), a black shirt that I couldn't pass because it fit me like a glove and was such a nice/classic style, a long dress, and a shorter T-shirt dress (because my family had gone and got hauls at Sears - maybe I felt like this was a treat for myself...probably not a good excuse haha).

12th // Asian store - $3  // 1 item
I got a earring for my grandma, and it was bogo so I also got one for myself... I didn't take a pic of the earrings for my grandma.

24th // Goodwill & Lifeway - $18.07 // 4 items
I went to the Goodwill outlet - so I ended up paying only $5 for a pretty nice courderoy jacket, purse (mondani- which I search & found that it's a pretty nice brand), and an awesome notebook that has a mirror cover that reads "Writing is the best way to talk without being interrupted". It's perfect for what my boyfriend and I do. (I also bought some ice cream which was $2 by itself haha)

From Lifeway I bought the book we're reading in our young adult women's group "We saved you a seat"[13.00]. I also need a new Bible so I got this "The Message/Remix" bible, but I think the lady mistyped the price and it ended being $33 instead of $24. I ended up returning The Message/Remix bible, and I'm glad I did.

28th // Walmart - $19 // 2 items
Cups are for Sunday School, but I bought some calcium chews and a new wiper for the front passenger seat of my car.

I did well this month! Hope April showers treated you well too!
