Beauty | 16 Items I loved in 2016
It's already the beginning of February, but thought I'd post 16 of my favorites from the previous year. It's a mix of beauty and just life items:
1. Tarte eye lash curler
My absolute favorite eye lash curler to get longer looking lashes. I actually heard about it because it was mentioned by Alexis Ren. So I decided to give it a try, and it's the absolute best!
2. Kat Von D eyeliner
This eyeliner is the rage right now, and I would have to agree. It's such a smooth and easy application and it stays on ALL day! I have the mini version and the full, but the mini version is the best! I usually apply my makeup after I'm at the gym at my workplace, so it's nice to have this on-the-go eye liner in my tiny makeup bag.
3. Sheet masks
I have definitely seen a change in my complexion since starting to use sheet masks on a weekly basis. Sheet masks are also just so relaxing, and it gives me an excuse to sit around and cook eggs for breakfast the next day or watch some Youtube videos or read my current reading book, etc. I would recommend incorporating sheet masks into at least your weekly face routine. I really just use any sheet masks, but these ones I got for Christmas have been super awesome and all smell really good :)
4. Batiste Dry Shampoo
I keep trying new dry shampoos, but nothing beats the Batiste one! I always get fresh and clean, but maybe I'll try a new scent next time I buy the product.
5. Evian Natural mineral water
I'm not sure, but I think this is just mineral water in a spray. I do feel that it's so refreshing though! After I put on makeup, I usually put a spritz of this on my face.
6. Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail Oil
I have the terrible habit of biting my nails, so my nails are usually short, stubby and dry on a daily basis. This oil has helped me to get my nails much stronger and healthier, making me want to bite them less. Though I still found myself going back to my bad habit, this oil has helped my nails looking a lot healthier than before.
7. Mary Kay lip exfoliator
This product leaves my lips feeling softer and more hydrated. Scrub it on your lips, leave it on for a minute or two, wash it off, and then apply any lip balm and you're good to go!
8. Noxzema
I almost forgot about these pads. The first time I bought it, it was because it was on sale but it then turned out to be a wonderful product that I bought again and again. You can really feel the sting of it working when you brush the pads on your face. I also love it because even after I use my makeup remove or oil cleanser, this blemish pad is still able to grab that bit of extra makeup that might still be on my face. My face definitely feels more clear after using this product.
9. Victoria Secret Hair Oil
The VS weightless hair oil smells so good! It's also light enough where it doesn't make your hair look oily, but it definitely makes my ends feel softer and look smooth. I usually just put it on my ends, brush it out, and then run off to what ever my plans are for the day.
10. EOS shaving cream
I usually wax, but I'm actually in the process of getting laser hair removal on my underams so I bought just the small version of the EOS shaving cream. It's honestly the best shaving cream I've ever used. It smells good and it leaves my skin feeling smooth after I shave my underarms.
11. Sally Hansen Lotion hair cream remover
I don't have my own image of this one because I recently just used it all, but I have definitely loved using the lotion hair cream removers. I use it just on my legs and my bikini line. It's so easy to use, and leaves you hairless for a bit longer than if you were to shave. It does not smell good at all, it actually smells pretty terrible but it gets the job done wonderfully! I have a Nairs lotion hair cream remover in my stack of stuff but haven't used it yet, so we'll see how that one compares :)
12. Aloe Toner
I have been loving this toner. The Aloe smells wonderful and it's just super refreshing and moisturizing! I've been using it about everyday after I wash my face. I recently watched one of Chriselle Lim's video; she suggests to tap the toner onto your face and, let me tell you, that made such a big change in how soothing it feels. I'm not sure if it's because air blows on to your face when you pat, but it really does make a difference in how refreshing the toner is. This toner is about 2/3rds of the way done, so I plan to try the Tea Tree Oil toner by The Body Shop next!
13. ULTA Contour Stick
I've really been loving this contour stick. It's my first contour stick but I think the application is just so easy and it really makes the contour look a lot more natural than if I were to do it with powder (maybe I'm just not the greatest powder blender lol).
14. Lipliner
I really like the essence lip liners. For the price they are, they are definitely worth it. They glide on the lips really smooth and this color is the perfect nude for my skin tone.
15. E.L.F. eyebrow kit.
I've loved this product for a few years now, but this product is the best for it's price. It's really universal. Sometimes I use the power for my eye shadow, sometimes for my contour, sometimes for my brow. It's the perfect shade for my skin tone really. I'm no makeup expert but I'm all about convenience.
16. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer
This is so far my favorite concealer. I love the sponge applicator and the easy usability of it. It's perfect at really concealing my under eyes. It also states to be a "Treatment Concealer", so hopefully it's doing well for my skin aging too. I know I'm definitely already getting to that age where wrinkle are really starting to be prevalent. I've heard many good things about the NARS concealer, so that's on my list to buy next!
